Health Programs

The More Allied Health Services (MAHS) program started in 2001. The program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health & Ageing as part of the Rural Health Strategy, 2004-2008.

The aim of the MAHS program is to:
Improve the health of people living in rural areas through allied health care and local linkages between allied health care and general practice.

The MAHS program at the Goldfields Esperance GP Network (GEGPN) currently covers a variety of allied health services throughout the region including:

• Counselling Service - Kalgoorlie
• Diabetes Education Services - Kalgoorlie
• Dietician Services - Kalgoorlie
• Take Heart Program - Esperance
• Podiatry Services - Rural & Remote
• Physiotherapy Services - Rural & Remote
• Lurrtjurringa Lan Program - Rural & Remote
